Yes. You can fill the Vase yourself. For some, this feels like a conscious and meaningful step in their process of farewell and grief. For others, it may be too confronting or emotionally difficult. Both feelings are completely understandable. Whatever you choose, it is okay—follow what feels most supportive for you at that moment.

If you prefer to leave this to someone else, please know that the funeral director or the crematorium can assist you with this.

If you order the Vase with flowers, it will be shipped in a beautifully designed box. When opened, the Vase is immediately visible in its complete presentation.
If the Vase is ordered without flowers, it will be sent to you in a neutral brown box.

The Vase is not intended for holding fresh flowers with water. Because the urn is made of wood, contact with moisture can damage the material and shorten its lifespan.

The Vase can be supplied, by choice, with high-quality, handmade artificial silk flowers in pink or white. This allows you to decorate the urn in a loving way without placing any strain on the wood.

It is also possible to order the Vase without flowers and choose artificial or silk flowers yourself that suit your loved one.

The Vase is easy to maintain. Occasionally wiping it with a soft, dry cloth is sufficient to keep the urn looking beautiful.

The Vase is designed for indoor use, in a location with a stable and dry climate. Because wood is a natural material, it can react to moisture, strong temperature fluctuations, and direct sunlight. To maintain its quality and appearance, we recommend not placing the Vase in damp areas, on a windowsill, or near a heat source.

Yes, the Vase can be personalized in a subtle way. It is possible to add an engraving, such as a name and/or date. The personal inscription is given a calm, understated place on the closing lid on the underside of the urn, ensuring that the design and form of the Vase remain intact.

In this way, the Vase becomes not only an urn, but a personal memorial object that reflects your memory and feeling.

Designer and maker Harm Rietveld designs and crafts each Vase by hand. In a calm, artisanal process, the soft curves are shaped, sanded, and refined step by step until form and feeling are in complete balance. There is no haste and no mass production — only attention, craftsmanship, and time.

The difference between the LittleVase and the Vase lies mainly in their size and appearance. The LittleVase is more compact and intended as a small, intimate memorial object that subtly finds its place in the home. It offers space to keep a portion of the ashes.
Because of its larger size, the Vase is more visible in the home, while its appearance remains soft, calm, and refined. This urn is designed to hold all of the ashes of an adult.

The LittleVase is supplied with a small bouquet of dried flowers, whereas the Vase can be delivered, by choice, with high-quality, handmade artificial silk flowers in pink or white.

Both are handmade from natural materials and designed to preserve memories in a personal way. Which one suits you best depends on the amount of ashes you wish to keep and on what feels right for you in your interior and your way of remembering.

Upon delivery, you will receive a small instruction booklet with clear explanations and the images below, so that you are guided step by step when filling the urn.
