LittleVase – Ash wood

The LittleVase is designed as a memorial object and is not suitable for use with water. Because wood is a natural material, moisture can cause damage and permanently affect the wood.

Yes. The LittleVase is designed so that you can open and close it yourself using the provided key. Upon delivery, you will receive a compact instruction booklet with clear explanations and illustrations, so you can fill it in a calm and careful way.

Because the LittleVase remains accessible, you can also return to its contents at a later time. This makes it possible, for example, to use a portion of the ashes in the future for a memorial jewelry piece or another personal keepsake.

Whether you choose to fill the urn yourself is entirely up to you. Take time to feel what you need in this, and ask someone for support—or ask someone to do it for you—if that feels better.

The LittleVase requires little maintenance. By gently wiping it with a soft, dry cloth from time to time, it remains beautiful and well cared for.

The LittleVase is intended for indoor use, in a dry and calm environment. Because wood is a natural material, it can be sensitive to moisture, large temperature fluctuations, and direct sunlight. To prevent discoloration, drying out, or warping, we recommend not placing the LittleVase in humid areas, on a windowsill, or near a heat source.

Each urn that leaves our studio is handcrafted and unique, made by designer and maker Harm Rietveld. Not a mass-produced item, but created through attention, craftsmanship, and time. The making process requires patience and care — a rhythm that resonates with grief itself. It is precisely in this that the strength of craftsmanship lies.

We consciously do not make standard urns. Farewell and remembrance are personal, and deserve a form that reflects that. Our wooden urns stand out through their organic shapes, natural materials, and unexpected appearance. They are tangible and warm, and often barely recognizable as urns — and it is precisely because of this that they find a natural place in everyday life.

Yes, the LittleVase can be personalized with an engraving on the metal lid that seals the urn. This can include, for example, a name and/or a date.

The engraving is located on the underside of the urn. In this way, the design of the LittleVase remains understated and refined, while the personal inscription is given its own meaningful place.

Upon delivery, you will receive a small instruction booklet with clear explanations and the images below, so that you are guided step by step when filling the urn.
